Reports to: Logistics Manager
Description
Operate a variety of heavy equipment with an emphasis on crane operations. Operate, tractor/trailer combinations, rubber-tired cranes, track cranes and similar equipment in a safe and experienced manner, as determined by supervisor(s). Assemble rigging to lift and move equipment or material by crane or other lifting/hoisting devices.
Qualifications
-
Must have a current state issued Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).

Must have a current certified crane operating license
-
3 or more years of operating hydraulic and/or lattice boom cranes required
-
Ability to operate crane by viewing hand signals.
Responsibilities
-
Ability to travel and work overtime (may include nights and weekends)
-
Select rigging, ropes, blocks, and sheaves per weight and size of load to be moved
-
Monitor weather conditions and recognize its hazards prior to start of lifting operations
-
Perform pre and post lift crane inspections
-
Responsible for reviewing and following lift plans and lift charts for every lift
-
Responsible for selecting the best boom, jib and crane configuration to suit the load, site and lift conditions
-
Responsible for assembling, setting up and rigging the crane properly
-
Maintain communications with signal person and/or radio personnel
-
Must exercise the right to refuse to operate the crane if there is reason to suspect the lift is unsafe

Responsible to track work hours and get appropriate customer signatures

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Monitor and maintain all certifications
-
Report and document all non-functioning and broken equipment to service manager
-
Reports to Logistics Manager immediately on completion of assigned job task for next assignment

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Physical Requirements
-
Operate equipment with both hand and feet controls
-
Operate both types of control simultaneously and be able to manipulate controls to regulate speed and direction of equipment movement
-
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. overhead.

Must be able to climb into and on all equipment located at the Amarillo crane yard
